General Terms and Conditions


HUYGENS.FR is an e-commerce website that sells cosmetic products, home perfumes and accessories of the HUYGENS brand. These General Terms and Conditions apply to all orders placed online, by phone or by email, by all Customers (hereinafter the « Buyer ») in every country where HUYGENS SAS (hereinafter the « Seller ») is shipping. The Buyer must be legally authorized to do so. By paying his order on the website, the Buyer acknowledges having read the General Terms and Conditions and accepts them unreservedly, that acceptance is not conditioned by a handwritten signature of the Buyer.



To place an order, the Buyer must create an account on the Website by completing a form with mandatory fields for the treatment of the order. He chooses a username and a password with which he must log in to place orders. He then needs to select one or several HUYGENS products, with a maximum number of 10 (ten) products of the same reference by month, and to add them to his shopping bag by clicking « BUY ME ». The Buyer can validate his order at any time by clicking on « SHOPPING BAG » or « GO TO CHECKOUT ». The Buyer then has access to a recap of the ordered products as well as the personal information included in the account (delivery addresses, billing addresses...). The Buyer has the ability to modify or confirm these information. He is then requested to read the herein General Terms & Conditions. If he accepts them, he shall tick the box « I agree to the terms of service and adhere to them unconditionally ». Any order implies acceptance of these General Terms & Conditions. To finalize his order the Buyer must proceed with the payment in the « Payment » section, where he can pay by CREDIT CARD (CB, Maestro, Visa, Master Card, Discover, American Express, Carte Aurore, Cofinoga, Privilège or 4 Etoiles) or PAYPAL ACCOUNT, via our secured server. When the payment is confirmed, a confirmation of acceptance of the order is displayed on the screen and sent by email by the Seller to the Buyer. The Products ordered remain the property of HUYGENS until full payment of their price by the Buyer.



The Seller offers for sale under the present General Terms & Conditions the products indicated on the Website the day of consultation, and available within the limits of stock. Should a product not be on stock anymore at the time of the order preparation, the Buyer will be informed by email. He can then choose to either get reimbursed, exchange the out-of-stock product or wait for restocking if planned. If the Buyer does not express his preference withing 7 days after receiving the email, he will automatically be reimbursed.



Products prices are quoted in Euro and include the Value Added Tax, or adjusted without VAT for the selected delivery address at the date of the order. HUYGENS reserves the right to change prices at any time. Prices include neither the cost of delivery - which will be charged extra by HUYGENS - nor potential customs clearing costs – to be paid by the Buyer directly to customs administration.

The Buyer pays its order on the Website by credit card or PayPal. The website has a security system for online payments using SSL Paypal enabling the Client to encode the transmission of its bank data. Orders are payable in advance in full prior to shipping. The Products ordered remain the property of HUYGENS until full payment of their price by the Buyer. Invoices are available on the website in the Buyer's private account area.


Right of withdrawal
Pursuant to the French Consumer Code, the Buyer has a period of fourteen (14) clear days from the receipt of its order, to notify HUYGENS its will to exercise his right of withdrawal. Product(s) will be returned in its/their unopened original packaging allowing HUYGENS to resell the Product(s) as new and unused.
However, in accordance with Article L.121-21-8 of the French Consumer Code, this right of withdrawal does not apply to Product(s) made as specified by the Customer or clearly personalized.
All Products must be returned to the following address: HUYGENS, 24 rue du Temple 75004 PARIS, France.
HUYGENS will refund the Buyer (excluding return costs to be born by the Buyer), within a maximum of fourteen days after receiving the Products.


Return for Lack of conformity
All products sold by HUYGENS are guaranteed against latent defects.
Under this warranty, the Customer is entitled to return the Product to the following address: HUYGENS, 24 rue du Temple 75004 PARIS, France, and be reimbursed of all costs incurred by the sale (delivery and return costs included).

All products sold by HUYGENS are guaranteed against latent defects pursuant to the article 1641 to 1649 of the Civil Code, and covered by a legal warranty of conformity as stipulated in the Section L.211-4 of the French Consumer Code.

Intellectual Property
The intellectual property rights of images, texts, pictures, brands, logos, names, musics, videos, data and any other elements attached to the Website are and remain the exclusive property of HUYGENS. No one is allowed to reproduce, modify, disseminate or use for any purpose whatsoever, even partially, the intellectual property rights, without the prior written consent of HUYGENS.


Change of Conditions
HUYGENS reserves the right to supplement, update and/or modify at any time the General Terms and Conditions.


The present General Terms & Conditions are written in English but the French version shall prevail in case of any dispute or misunderstanding about their content.

Applicable Law - Disputes
All agreements between the Seller and the Buyer are governed exclusively by French law; the applicability of the Vienna Sales Convention is hereby explicitly excluded. All disputes between the parties will be brought exclusively before the competent court in France.
